DoorDing Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of DoorDing, a text-message-based food ordering service ("the Service"). By texting our number or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What DoorDing Does

DoorDing lets you browse menus, place orders, and pay for food from participating independent restaurants entirely by SMS. DoorDing is a technology platform: the restaurants — not DoorDing — prepare your food and are responsible for its quality, safety, accuracy, allergens, and availability.

2. Eligibility and Messaging Consent

• You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to place orders.
• By texting our number, you consent to receive automated, order-related text messages at that number. Message frequency varies with use; message and data rates may apply.
• Reply STOP to opt out of messages at any time (this will prevent us from completing pending orders). Reply HELP for assistance.
• You represent that the phone number you use is yours and that you are authorized to receive texts on it.

3. Orders and Payment

• Orders are placed by replying to menu prompts and are final once payment is completed (or, for pay-at-pickup orders, once confirmed).
• Payment is processed securely by Stripe via a payment link. Prices are set by the restaurant and shown before you pay.
• Your order is transmitted to the restaurant only after payment succeeds. Estimated preparation and delivery times are estimates, not guarantees.

4. Refunds and Issues

• If we take your payment and cannot deliver your order to the restaurant, we will refund you in full.
• For problems with prepared food (wrong item, quality issues), contact the restaurant first; they are responsible for food fulfillment. If you can't resolve it, contact us at the email below and we will help mediate, which may include a refund at our discretion.
• Refunds are returned to the original payment method via Stripe.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including: placing fraudulent orders, using stolen payment methods, harassing restaurant staff or drivers, attempting to disrupt or reverse-engineer the Service, or using it for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or block numbers that violate these Terms.

6. Service Availability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." Restaurants, menu items, and service hours change without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the Service, and we may modify or discontinue it at any time.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DoorDing's total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the order giving rise to the claim. DoorDing is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the acts or omissions of restaurants, drivers, carriers, or payment processors.

8. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect and use your information, including our SMS practices. It is part of these Terms.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date reflects the latest version. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
